This song is the only promotional single from Lady Gaga's second studio album Born This Way. Written and produced by Gaga and Red One, the melody of the song resembles the work of metal bands Iron Maiden and Kiss, and is also influenced by Bruce Springsteen. The singer told Ryan about the song in an interview back in February, saying it’s one of her favorite songs on the album.

I predicted Melanie Amaro would win the first season of X Factor USA and I was right. After she was crowned the champion of The X Factor's first-ever U.S. version, Amaro closed out the show with an encore performance of "Listen." Backstage, Amaro laughed as she recalled the moment she won and how she forgot the lyrics.

"I couldn't remember any of the words," she said. "I was so overwhelmed; it was such a surprise to me."

This ballad is the lead single from Adam Lambert's upcoming second studio album Trespassing. This is a great song. However, I don't think it is going to be a hit because people may hate Adam after his latest scandal. Adam Lambert and boyfriend Sauli Koskinen were arrested outside a gay club in Finland this morning. The couple’s dispute led to a physical altercation. Finnish beauty queen Sofia Ruusila, who had been celebrating with the couple, told a local entertainment channel that she tried to get between the pair when Lambert accidentally hit her.
